Me and my feminist self got to thinking, why is it that long hair is valued for women and not so for men? Why is it that guys shave their heads allll the time and not one person bats an eye, but if you see a female with a shaved head, it’s accompanied by whispering, giggling, staring, pointing, pity even. Some people think that i’m battling cancer. But really i just wanted to make a point that women can (and should!) shave their heads too. I cut off 32 inches of hair. While i lost 3 lbs, i gained the most amazing confidence I’ve ever felt. Never in my life have I felt so comfortable in my own skin. I encourage anyone interested in shaving their heads, to absolutely do it! The amount of positive support I’ve received from this is truly overwhelming, my community has embraced my bald head with open arms. It’s honestly the best decision I’ve ever made. I mean come on, just look how happy i am!
